GENIE-2000 Programming Library Developer: Canberra Industries, Inc.

The GENIE-2000 Programming Library is an SDK that exposes the core acquisition and analysis capabilities of the Genie 2000 gamma spectroscopy platform. It enables developers, system integrators, and laboratory engineers to automate workflows, build custom user interfaces, and integrate spectroscopy operations with external systems.

Key capabilities:

  • Programmatic control of spectra acquisition, instrument setup, and run sequencing
  • Access to spectral data and metadata for analysis, reporting, and archiving
  • Invocation of established Genie 2000 analysis routines (e.g., peak search/fitting, calibration, nuclide identification)
  • Batch and unattended processing for high-throughput labs
  • Integration with supported MCAs and detectors managed by Genie 2000
  • COM/ActiveX and DLL interfaces usable from common languages (such as C/C++, C#, Visual Basic, and LabVIEW)

Typical uses include LIMS integration, automated count-and-report stations, QA/QC automation, and the development of streamlined, task-specific operator interfaces. Running on Windows and leveraging existing Genie 2000 configurations and file formats, the library helps laboratories extend validated methods without reimplementing core spectroscopy algorithms.

GENIE-2000 Programming Library is developed by Canberra Industries, Inc.. The most popular versions of this product among our users are: 2.1, 3.1 and 3.2. The names of program executable files are nuclib.exe, winvdm.exe.
